WHAT WE'RE WEARING: Fall Shorts
Shorts can be an amazing asset when transitioning from summer to fall or just in general. Worn with tights (I always wear opaque), they can keep your legs warm and make you look incredibly stylish as well.
This morning, I decided to try out a pair that I typically wear in the summer because of the nautical theme and transition them to fall with some darker colors and tights. In this way, it is fashionable without looking too summery or out of place on cold mornings.
I wore these navy shorts with a navy blouse that has a lighter blue contrast at the shoulders and collar to add a little bit of extra color to the ensemble. I also love the lightweight feel of the blouse since it is chilly in the morning but warm in the afternoons.
With the shorts and blouse, I added opaque black tights. I love the look of opaque tights as opposed to sheer tights because they are a bit more formal and appropriate for the fact that I work in laboratory science and need to have my legs covered. Beyond the neccessity of the opaque tights, I like how they are more slimming and to me seem more demure than sheer tights. Sheer tights are great when you are going for a sexier looks and certainly have their place in day to day wear, but I like the opaque with this look.
I finished the look off with my black Aquitalia boots (another day to day favorite) and was ready to be off to work and school.
I have had the pair that I am wearing forever so unfortunately, they are no longer available but you can shop another pair of shorts we love in the What We're Loving section here!
