WHAT WE’RE WEARING: Thanksgiving Edition
Grab a cozy sweater, put on your cutest (and stretchiest) pants, and pass the potatoes because it’s Thanksgiving!
Whether you have formal dinner or more of a cozy laid-back get together, Thanksgiving is a great time to really embrace all of the festive autumnal colors that paint our trees, streets, and sidewalks.
Some of our favorite hues this year are burgundies, mustards, oranges, beiges, and gold. It’s kind of funny how we hold on to the warm hues in fall, almost like we’re desperately grasping on a few more warm days before the cold Minnesota winter strikes.
The fun part comes in with working them into your wardrobe. You can add some fun pieces listed below, or even go for color pops with fun details like colored tights, jewelry, or scarves.
First up is this amazing midi pleated skirt. It’s just the right length and color to be enough of a statement on its own when paired with a tailored top but simple enough that patterns could work as well. Find this awesome Prada number here.
If pants are more your style, look no further than these Trouvé stretch crepe joggers (key word here being stretch). While being comfy, they still have a totally polished look. Get them at Nordstrom or through it link.
A mustard top with and adorable tie? I’ll give thanks to that! Get this pop of color piece at Modcloth with the link here.
I think that closely behind the “Little Black Dress” comes the “Go-To Tee”. This Treasure & Bond number is soft and loose-fitting to make it a versatile staple and it looks great with pretty much everything else on this list (and your closet). Get it here.
There’s probably no better color for fall wear than mustard and probably no better place to find a great sweater than Madewell. Get this striking sweater here.
Wear a cardi to the party! This cardigan from Zara is a lovely autumnal, warm green and has fun faux pearl details on the sleeves and buttons. Get it here.
I love a Peter Pan collar. And I also love layering when it gets cooler out. So for obvious reasons, I love this Modcloth pumpkin colored collared sweater and will buy it here.
Gel nails are a great way to add a little color and really make for a “polished” look (see what I did there?). I’m trying out Essie’s two-step Gel Couture polish in Gala-vanting, a deep, burgundy color perfect for fall. Look for a review on Sophie the Blog in the coming weeks on this new polish line.
And just because you don’t want to miss a single detail, get these funny turkey socks for the perfect finishing touch to any Thanksgiving Day outfit here.
While hopefully you’ll be thankful you find the perfect Thanksgiving Day outfit, we want all our readers to know that we’re extremely thankful for you. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
