UPCYCLING: the date night
As nice as would be, most of us do not have the time to get a new, perfect outfit for every single date night that comes our way.
The good news is that most times that perfect outfit can be right there, in your closet, just waiting to be taken for another night on the town. What you're looking for a simple, classically cut dress that doesn't date itself. A great companion in these situations is your forgotten shift dress.
Now, we all have the go-to little black dress, but I simply cannot ever resist the temptation to be overly festive. In honor of Valentine’s Day this past week, I wanted to go with something a little more fun and if it happened to be red or pink it would certainly help. I’ve had this pink quartz shift dress with fitted bracelet length sleeves just long enough for it to have worked its way to the almost mysterious-back-quarter of my closet. It’s pink, a classic cut, and did I mention that it has sleeves (always a bonus in Minnesota)?
By pairing this with my new favorite accessory, black opaque tights, the outfit is already looking rejuvenated. These tights are seriously amazing…a polished look while being slightly thicker to shield you from Minneapolis weather when it feels like punishing the well-dressed with its biting cold nights. Along with some little black pumps or, even better, little black booties, and a few simple jewelry pieces, the ensemble is complete. Date night ready!
