UPCYCLING: Vintage Chanel Pants
I have long had an obsession with Chanel.
One of Chanel's designs that had a profound effect on women's fashion is the wide legged trouser. She would frequently wear her boyfriend's suits and began to design clothing in the same material and cut so that it would be stylish and comfortable.
When I founds these wool blend Chanel pants at a local shop a while back, I knew that I had to to have them. They are warm enough for the winter and a beautiful shape so that I always look stylish and professional for work. The best part about vintage pants is that they do not cost a fortune like new Chanel pants.
When wearing my Chanel pants, I try to focus on the lines of the ensemble. I usually wear them with a form fitting sweater (you have to wear them in the winter because they are wool and incredibly warm), and a scarf. Top if off with little black booties and you are ready for the day!
Because of the toned down nature of the outfit, I like to add various accessories to add more interest. I always wear my wedding ring but I also like to add some more masculine features to the outfit, such as my husband's watch. From there, I add fashion jewelry (check out our last upcycling post about fashion jewelry here)
I love these pants. I probably wear them too much (or not enough...). Vintage Chanel was probably one of the best fashion investments that I have made. They are well constructed and are capable of lasting through a lot of stress. I recommend going to your local consignment shop and finding a pair because they are just wonderful!
