SKIN CARE OBSESSIONS: French Pharmacie Favorites
In honor of Fashion month, we decided to a post about some of our favorite beauty products that we picked up over seas. For the most part, I found a lot of these products while going to school in France. Some of them are now offered in the US which has been amazing (some even on Amazon and who does not love convenience). Without much more introduction, here are a few of the cheap French products we adore. Click each of the photos for where to purchase each of these amazing products!
Dessange Pre Shampoo Hair Mask
A hair mask that can whisk away oil and leave you with incredible hair? Yes please. This Dessange hair mask is the perfect detoxifying clay to remove oil and debris from your tresses. This version comes with a small comb so that you can apply it like the professionals at the Dessange salon in Paris do right in the comfort of your own bathroom. It is the secret to the slightly messy, just got out of bed, hair you see on all of the Parisians because they rarely wash their hair (compared with the average American woman who washers her hair almost daily). With this mask, you can switch to the Parisian routine and know your hair will always look amazing as long as you take amazing care of it.
This all purpose stick is an absolute life saver. Keep a stick in your purpose and use it for almost everything, from blemishes to dry skin. It hydrates. It is an astringent. It is a miracle all in one 3.5 gram package. This wonderful little tube soothes, protects and hydrates the skin. I absolutely recommend keeping some in your bag and can promise you will not regret it!
La Roche-Posay Lipikar Lait
I use this daily. I keep some in the lab at my desk and in both bathrooms at home. There is even some tucked away in my car for when I am particularly desperate. I love it so much it has even appeared on the blog before. La Roche-Posay is a French Pharmacie brand and they make the most incredible yet relatively affordable lotions and moisturizers. This milk soothes and hydrates the skin without feeling too oily. It is the perfect cream to have around while the weather is starting to get cooler, leaving you with dryer skin. With Lipikar Lait, my skin is always moisturized and stays that way for hours. The 13.5 fluid ounce bottle may seem a little bit more expensive (it is certainly not carry on sized) but a little bit goes a long way and the bottles last me months at a time.
Each of these products are relatively inexpensive and easy to find. I have found them all to be life changing to my beauty routine and really recommend trying all 3!
