3 of the Best Morning Brews Around

3 of the Best Morning Brews Around

Coffee Brew Post

Now that school is back in session, we thought we would take some time to outline our three favorite places to by some locally roasted beans for your morning brew. Whether you are starting college for the first time or like me, a perpetual student, that morning cup of coffee can be the difference between an amazing day spent learning so many new things and a day spent silently perusing Instagram in the back because you just cannot deal with it that day.

Mapp's Tea & Coffee

Located in the Midtown Global Market, Mapps has incredible beans that they roast in their shop/kiosk and sell for an incredibly reasonable price. I was first turned on to Mapps because of my sister-in-law, who always has amazing coffee at her house. A 1 pound bag is usually somewhere around 8.99 but it is certainly worth every penny and I can guarantee it is a wonderful cup of coffee. They also source their beans from ethical and sustainable locations so you can feel good about the products that you are purchasing.

Kopplin's Coffee

Coffee Brew Post

For those of you on the Saint Paul side of town, Kopplin's is a wonderful place to pick up of a cup of coffee and to purchase some beans to take home with you. They focus on locally produced ethical and sustainable products. Kopplin's uses organic products and is committed to provided livable wages to all of their employees as well as paid time off (we love that they are supporting worker's rights). The roasts are also incredible and it is one of my favorite places to stop for a cup of coffee when I am in Saint Paul. You can purchase the beans online here and they offer a subscription service to make sure you always have a fantastic brew around.

Coffee and Tea Ltd.

This shop located near Lake Harriet in the Linden Hills area is my favorite of the three (which is hard to choose because I really truly adore all three of these shops). It is a little bit more expensive than the other two but they source beans and special brews from around the world. Coffee and Tea Ltd. also sources fine loose leaf teas for those of you who are more tea drinkers than coffee. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and can explain all of the differences between the fineness of the grind on your coffee beans to what hints of flavor each specialty brew holds. If you are looking for a special occasion or just want to try at truly special brew, look no further.

Coffee Brew Post

Location: 2730 West 43rd Street Minneapolis, MN 55410

(there is also a second location on the first floor of the Sear's in the Mall of America, which is a really odd place to have a second location but convenient for all of those times you are already out shopping.

All three of these shops provide wonderful beans that you can take home to brew the perfect cup of coffee to start your day. Let us know if there are any other shops that you love to add to our list!
